Privacy Policy

Relations between Legard Law Association and its clients are protected by attorney–client privilege and by the statutory guarantees of legal practice under Articles 22 and 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Bar and Practice of Law” (opens in a new tab).

Attorney–client privilege covers any information about a client that has become known to an attorney, an attorney’s assistant, a trainee attorney or a person employed by an attorney, as well as the matters on which the client (or a person who was refused a legal aid agreement on the grounds provided by this Law) approached the attorney, law office or law association; the content of the attorney’s advice, consultations and explanations; documents drawn up by the attorney; information stored on electronic media; and other documents and information obtained by the attorney in the course of legal practice.

The professional rights, honour and dignity of an attorney are guaranteed and protected by the Constitution of Ukraine, this Law and other laws; in particular:

  1. any interference with or obstruction of legal practice is prohibited;
  2. it is prohibited to demand that an attorney, their assistant or trainee, a person employed by the attorney, law office or law association, or a person whose right to practise law has been terminated or suspended, disclose information constituting attorney–client privilege. These persons may not be questioned on such matters, except where the person who entrusted the information has released them from the duty of confidentiality in the manner prescribed by law.

Requests sent through the website form

When you use the “Request a consultation” form, you send us:

  • your name;
  • a phone number or email address, so that we can reply;
  • a description of your situation, if you add one;
  • the title and address of the page the request was sent from.

This information is used only to respond to your request and arrange a consultation.

The website has no server of its own for receiving requests. Form data is passed to the FormSubmit service (formsubmit.co), which forwards it by email to the association’s address legard.kyiv@gmail.com. This means that, when sent, your request passes through this third-party service and the Gmail email service.

If you prefer not to pass information through a third-party service, write directly to legard.kyiv@gmail.com or call +38068-701-77-96. In the form it is enough to give only your contact details and discuss the specifics during the consultation.
